Mark Postma, P.E.

My formal education began with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, specializing in structural engineering. I then went on to obtain a master’s degree in engineering focusing on building science and restoration. Early in my career, I was involved in structural engineering and project management for new precast and post-tensioned parking structures. Over time, I gravitated towards restoration engineering developing a love for solving problems. I have been involved in the evaluation and restoration of numerous structures in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. I led the restoration division of a major multi-office US consulting engineering firm and was actively involved in various trade associations. In 2010, I embarked on a career change managing the engineering and design team of a curtain wall fabricator working on complex stick and unitized curtain wall projects in major US cities, including many design assist projects. I enjoy public speaking and have given presentations and training sessions nationally on topics including concrete durability, restoration techniques, structural strengthening and unitized curtain wall design.
